PACEMAKER

Suddenly, my best friend papercaptain gave me a random word yesterday (because that time I chat him while I'm sobbing). The word is: pacemaker. Then I said to him, "I heard of it before. Someone who make the pace? Sort of like playmaker in basketball?". He said "not that kind" and he laughed.

I looked up the meaning in the dictionary.

1 an artificial device for stimulating the heart muscle and regulating its contractions.

• the part of the heart muscle (the sinoatrial node) that normally performs this role.

• the part of an organ or of the body that controls any other rhythmic physiological activity.
